What is microneedling?

Unlike laser technologies, microneedling uses needles that are so tiny and fine, as well as moves at such a high speed, that the integrity of your skin remains intact, without leaving traces of damage. However, your skin still reacts to the minor pricking sensations of these micro-needles by initiating the proliferation of new cells, most important of them being fibroblasts. In their natural development, fibroblasts eventually transform into collagen fibres that integrate into the formation that already exists in the upper layers of your skin. This process is known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). The proliferation of endothelial cells also occurs, encouraging the creation of new capillaries that keep the skin better nourished. As a result, The eDermastamp® and Dermaroller® strengthens your skin, making it healthier and more youthful. You’ll see a dramatic improvement gradually appear in the weeks following just a single session.

WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT DERMAROLLER® SKIN TREATMENT AT EDELSTEIN COSMETIC?

The eDermastamp® and Dermaroller® do not rely on laser technology, thereby eliminating all risks and complications related to light-based treatments (e.g. burning, hypopigmentation). However, countless studies have shown that the treatment is only effective when performed by an experienced medical aesthetician with good knowledge of the skin. In fact, microneedling may even cause serious damage when performed by a novice. Our head medical aesthetician is an educator who frequently trains and tests other national and international doctors, nurses and aestheticians to achieve optimal results from advanced cosmetic technologies, like eDermastamp®.

There is no risk of bleeding or bruising. Unlike other medical skin treatments, you don’t have to follow a post-treatment plan because microneedling doesn’t traumatize your skin. You can return to regular activities immediately after your treatment. Unlike other laser technologies, there is less than 12 hours of downtime. It is more economical because it’s only half the cost of Fraxel and other intense laser therapies. It’s safe for all skin types and colours.

ELIMINATE SAGGY SKIN, WRINKLES AND FINE LINES

Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of ageing, but microneedling can smooth them away and dramatically slow their future development by promoting cell regeneration. Cell regeneration allows your skin to remodel itself at the dermal and epidermal levels, making the skin tighter, firmer and more supple. Wrinkles disappear, sagging is eliminated and enlarged pores shrink. Up to three treatments may be required to achieve your optimal improvement, with a single annual treatment scheduled to maintain results.

ACNE SCARS, CHICKEN POX SCARS AND OTHER DEPRESSED SCARS

Acne scars are depressions in the skin that vary in depth and size. By targeting scar tissue specifically, The eDermastamp® acne scarring treatment encourages the creation of new fibroblast cells. These migrate to the scar and fill the depression with new layers of collagen. At the same time, new capillaries are formed to provide the area with an abundant supply of nutrients, oxygen and blood pigments (haemoglobin). The haemoglobin serves to transform the colour of the scar, making it more like that of the surrounding, healthy skin.

HYPERTROPHIC SCARS

Hypertrophic scars are the opposite of depressed scars–they instead rise above the normal height of the surrounding skin. This type of scar occurs when too much collagen is created. The eDermastamp® encourages the degradation of scar tissue so that the scar is at an even level as the unaffected skin. With the new proliferation of capillaries, the colour of the scar adopts the same colour as the unaffected skin as well. Hypertrophic scar treatment tends to require more sessions to achieve your optimal improvement.

KELOID TREATMENT

The eDermastamp® is also effective as keloid treatment.

BURN SCARS

The eDermastamp® has been able to achieve remarkable results for patients with burn scars, improving their appearance, discomfort, as well as the mobility of affected extremities and neck.

STRETCHMARKS OR STRIAE

The eDermastamp® minimizes the appearance of stretchmarks, also known as striae. Stretchmarks are signs that the foundation of your skin is broken, therefore it is essentially a type of scar. Your skin is unable to repair stretchmarks because the transformation of fibroblasts into restorative collagen is prevented. The eDermastamp® encourages the skin to repair this broken skin by stimulating cell regeneration at a dramatic level. It is a rigorously tested and proven stretch mark treatment.

Microneedling is suitable for men and women who want to address scars, stretchmarks and wrinkles without surgery. Any skin type can be treated.

RISKS

Infection, hyperpigmentation and sensitivity are rare risks of the treatment.

YOUR TREATMENT

A numbing cream can be used before your session to improve comfort. However, this is not necessary.

A session lasts about half an hour or so, depending on the number of areas treated. The device is gently applied to your target areas with a controlled action. You may feel some pressure, but overall the procedure is comfortable.

YOUR RESULTS

In the weeks following your session, you’ll notice a gradual improvement of your complexion as collagen levels increase and your skin remodels itself. You may require a series of sessions performed once a month or so to achieve your desired results.

Take home a modified version of The eDermastamp® and Dermaroller® so you can continue to beautify your skin before and after your in-clinic session. In addition, research has found that the at-home version is a fantastic exfoliator, enabling better penetration of the serums, moisturizers, and other skincare products you use. You may find that the products you use work much better because they can penetrate 200 times more into your skin!
