Liposuction

The best candidate for liposuction is an individual over 18 who is within 25 pounds of his or her recommended body weight and is in good health.
As with any type of surgery, it’s essential that you have realistic expectations. Liposuction is NOT intended for weight loss. It cannot eliminate certain skin problems such as cellulite. What it can do is remove small, localized pockets of fat.
*The permanency of liposuction results depends on your own eating habits.* The fat cells removed during the procedure are gone forever. However, if you overeat, especially during the first four months after surgery, the extra calories tend to be stored in the areas that were just liposuctioned, because these areas are healing and the remaining cells are very metabolically active. After four months, and especially after a year, the liposuctioned regions tend to be more resistant to fat accumulation compared to before the surgery.
