On the day of your microneedling, you may apply a numbing cream prior to your session to improve comfort. However, it’s typically not necessary.
Each microneedling session lasts about half an hour or so, depending on the number and size of the areas treated. The device is gently applied to your target areas with some pressure, but overall, the procedure is comfortable.
If PRP is to be used, a small amount of blood is drawn, then spun in a centrifuge, separating the platelets. The platelet-rich plasma is then placed on the skin immediately after the microneedling, allowing the PRP to penetrate deep into the skin.
In the weeks following your session, you will notice a gradual improvement of your complexion as your collagen levels increase and your skin remodels itself. You may require a series of sessions performed once a month or so to achieve your desired result.
