Butt augmentation procedures are becoming a huge trend and much of the reason why is because women want to have round, plump bottoms that they are proud to show off. Women who have flat, disproportionate, or saggy buttocks often feel self-conscious about the way they look in shorts, underwear, and bathing suits. To help give these women a boost of confidence, a butt augmentation may be just what the doctor ordered.
But, Why?
When you turn on the television, you always hear the latest gossip about other women’s butts. For example, many of the front runners in this department include Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé. Everyone knows them one way or another and both are known for their bodacious booties.
Since 2013, butt augmentation procedures have increased by almost 60 percent. This means a lot of women are on the hunt to make sure their booty stacks with the rest.
Since butt augmentation procedures have naturally come to the forefront of many plastic surgery procedures, the actual procedure itself has advanced in many ways and it not as complicated or risky as one may think.
How is the Procedure Performed?
Butt augmentation procedures such as the Brazilian butt lift involve the removal of fat from one area of the body and injection of that fat into another area of the body. Typically, fat is removed from either the thighs, tummy, or an area where liposuction can be performed. The lower back, waist, and hips are usually liposuctioned to start giving the buttocks a better shape. If not enough fat can be retrieved from the body, the lift procedure will not be able to take place and you will have to choose another butt augmentation procedure.
If you do not have enough fat for the butt lift procedure, you can have butt implants placed within your buttocks. The implants are made from a solid silicone material. This is a common method used for women who do not have excess fat to spare.
In both procedures you need to make sure you choose a qualified plastic surgeon who will maintain the integrity of the fat cells and/or who knows how to properly place the implants.
How is the Recovery Process?
Recovery will take some time and you should expect to be out of work for at least two weeks. You will be unable to sit on your bottom for three weeks following the procedure as well.
Pain is mild to moderate, but can be eased with over-the-counter or prescription medication. Many patients are able to return back to their normal activities within a week or two. If you notice any symptoms that seem odd or are causing you a lot of discomfort, make sure you speak with your plastic surgeon right away.
With the boom in butt augmentation procedures, you may be interested in talking to Dr. Edelstein or Dr. Jindal about the procedure. If you do plan to go through with the surgery, make sure that you have a full understanding of what to expect and how to care for yourself afterwards.
