Breast Augmentation for Fitness Models

Female fitness models and athletes require breast augmentation that is customized to their unique needs. A career that centers on maintaining a great looking body can’t be interrupted by a procedure that leaves behind bad results.A UNIQUE APPROACH TO BREAST AUGMENTATION FOR FITNESS MODELSThe most common problem faced by female athletes and fitness models is that constant body improvement may lead to sagging or diminished breasts. The pursuit of a flawless body involves muscle building and a strict diet that works to define the body, even as it causes the breasts to disappear. Since the female breast is primarily composed […]

Breast Augmentation and Cancer

ARE WOMEN WITH IMPLANTS MORE LIKELY TO DEVELOP BREAST CANCER?Many women may believe that there is a link between breast cancer and implants. Fortunately, this isn’t true: no evidence has been found that implants are capable of causing or contributing to the development of breast cancer. Statistics measuring breast cancer rates among women with and without implants have found no significant difference in the occurrence of the disease between the two groups, leading doctors to the conclusion that no such link exists. A secondary concern regarding the ability of implants to interfere with early breast cancer detection is also unfounded. Statistics […]

Breast Augmentation and Self Esteem

A Plastic Surgical Nursing study carried out by a University of Florida College of Nursing researcher has established the link between breast augmentation and increased self-esteem/boosted sexual confidence. Cynthia Figueroa-Haas, the clinical assistant professor who performed the examination, published her findings in an attempt not to suggest that the procedure should be used to overcome these feelings, but to demonstrate the psychological benefits of breast augmentation to physicians who may otherwise have a pre-conceived negative opinion regarding the surgery. Figueroa-Haas’ study was conducted via a sample group of 84 women between 21 and 57 years old who had already scheduled breast […]

Breast Implant Removal (Explant)

Women who have had breast augmentation may choose to have their breast implants removed for any number of different reasons. Most commonly, though, patients cite a few common motivators for undergoing the breast explant procedure and replacing breast implants. The most common reasons for breast implant replacement include:OLD IMPLANTSLike any other object, breast implants can be affected by age. They may rupture and leak. LARGE IMPLANTSSome women decide that they would rather have smaller implants some time after undergoing the initial augmentation treatment. The original implants will never actually change in size, but a desire to have smaller breasts can lead […]

Breast Implants and Stretch Marks

Many candidates for breast augmentation may be concerned that undergoing the procedure will lead to the formation of unsightly stretch marks. Stretch marks are formed when skin tissue is overly stretched, causing reddish, whitish or purplish stripes, similar to scars, to appear in the affected area. When the skin is overly stressed by changes such as rapid weight loss/gain, the inner layer of the skin (dermis) tears and creates underlying scar tissue that is visible on the skin’s thin top layer (epidermis). Whether or not a patient develops stretch marks following breast augmentation depends on a number of individual factors. The […]

Breast Augmentation: Post-Operative Care Instructions

The healing time for your breast augmentation procedure varies between different patients.  The following represents a general idea of what to expect after breast augmentation surgery. Individual patients may experience variations from this course. When you awake from your surgery you will be in the recovery room.  You will  have a bra on (and possibly a tensor band around your upper breast). If you are not staying overnight (most patients), you will be able to go home when you have fully recovered from the sedation.  You will be given a prescription for pain medication and antibiotics. It is extremely important you take the antibiotics […]

Breast Implant Complications Overview

Many patients who receive breast implants do not experience any serious complications as a result of their surgery, but some do and it’s important to know about these potential risks before going forward.See why the new silicone implants are safe and do not leak if puncturedComplications and Adverse Effects of SurgeryImplants can lead to the development of complications or adverse effects in roughly 1% of all patients, causing problems that may need to be addressed through further surgery or […]

Breast Implant Projection

Breast implant projection, also known as breast implant profile, refers to the amount of forward projection an implant offers when sitting against your chest wall. If you were to lie an implant flat on a table, you would be able to see the amount of projection by how tall the implant is. There are several types of profiles, ranging from low to high projection. An implant with a lower profile generally has a wider base width so it lies flatter against your chest, while a higher profile will have a narrower base width so that it can project further from your […]
