Today’s leading laser treatment technologies available at Edelstein Cosmetic
FDA approved technology designed to maximize patient comfort
SYNERON EMAX ELOS LASER SYSTEM
The Syneron eMax elōs Laser System provides the ability to perform various procedures featuring FDA-approved technology designed to maximize patient comfort. This advanced laser system harnesses elōs technology, a synergistic combination of optical and bi-polar radiofrequency (RF) energies.
*According to Dr. M. Kreindel and Dr. A. Waldman, this technology “is safer for the epidermis” than treatments based on optical energy alone, as suggested in the study, Electro-Optical Synergy (ELOS™) Technology for Aesthetic Medicine Light Triggering Effect on RF Selectivity.*
The elōs technology used in eMax systems delivers light and RF energy without causing unnecessary harm to the surrounding skin tissue. This has the effect of giving you a more comfortable procedure with minimal recovery and downtime. Many patients at Edelstein Cosmetic even schedule their treatments over a lunch hour and immediately resume their day afterward.
Any skin tone, texture or hair colour can be effectively treated with Syneron eMax elōs Laser Systems. Virtually everyone, even those who weren’t eligible for treatment in the past due to their skin type, is now able to take advantage of leading skin improvement solutions.
SIGNIFICANT CLINICAL AND HISTOLOGIC IMPROVEMENT WITH LASER SKIN TREATMENT
Laser technologies used in medical aesthetic treatments are often unable to achieve desirable results for patients with skin types IV to VI (darker tones that don’t burn easily). Typically, there exists a high risk of negative side effects, such as undesirable hyperpigmentation. However, research led by dermatopathologist Dr. Victor Prieto found that patients with skin types IV to VI experienced significant clinical and histologic improvement in the treatment of acne with optical and bi-polar radiofrequency (RF) energies
WHAT IS THE SYNERON EMAX ELŌS LASER SYSTEM?
The full suite of Syneron eMax elōs Laser System treatments are designed to harness powerful light energies, precisely targeted at problem areas. It is able to stimulate natural processes that correct embarrassing or unsightly skin conditions without harming the surrounding tissue. This allows for a more comfortable procedure and faster recovery.
FOTOFACIAL IPL SKIN REJUVENATION
FotoFacial IPL Skin Rejuvenation uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and elōs Technology, a system that consistently outperforms traditional lasers, to treat several layers of the skin at one time. A combination of bipolar radio frequency (RF) and broadspectrum light energies precisely heats the targeted area and are directed to the underlying causes of pigmentation and vascular related problems (like spider veins or age spots) without harming the surrounding tissue.

FotoFacial is able to treat many different issues but is most often recommended to patients who wish to reduce the appearance of age spots, rosacea, spider veins, sun damage and/or acne scarring.
REFIRME SKIN TIGHTENING
ReFirme Skin Tightening leverages elōs Technology to heat the skin’s dermal layer of tissue with precisely targeted RF and light energy. Normalized cell growth is stimulated without any harm inflicted on the surrounding skin.

*The 2007 study published in the Lasers in Surgery and Medicine journal, Combined infrared light and bipolar radiofrequency for skin tightening in Asians, tested the viability of elōs-assisted skin tightening and found that almost 90% of a sample group of 19 volunteers troubled by loose facial skin reported significant improvement. ReFirme Skin Tightening is recommended for patients who wish to be treated for age-related skin issues like neck and face wrinkling and/or sagging. The end result of ReFirme therapy is more toned and vibrant skin.*

LASER SKIN REJUVENATION WITH SUBLATIVE REJUVENATION
Sublative Rejuvenation uses fractionated RF energy to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface unharmed. The energy stimulates collagen production below the skin’s surface without overheating (and damaging) the outermost, visible layer. This level of stimulation leads to normalized cell regrowth and healthier skin. The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology conducted the 2009 study, Skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction using a fractional radiofrequency system, which examined the efficacy of Sublative Rejuvenation and found it to be an ideal treatment for patients of any skin type. The report concluded that this laser skin rejuvenation treatment leads to “noticeable improvement” in correcting wrinkles, scars and other problems with skin texture.
Problems Treated
The collagen producing benefits of Sublative Rejuvenation work to treat wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks and other textural issues caused by sun damage. Because the technology behind Sublative Rejuvenation laser skin rejuvenation bypasses surface skin layers, it can be used for patients of all skin types.
MATRIX IR FRACTIONAL SKIN TREATMENT
Matrix IR Fractional Skin Treatment combines RF and fractional optical energy together to heat tissue deep underneath the skin. This heating helps to generate new collagen, the fibre responsible for a smooth, elastic and wrinkle-free complexion, without causing damage to the outer layers of the skin.
Problems Treated
If you suffer from uneven skin texture or wrinkles caused by normal aging or environmental damage, Matrix IR Fractional Skin Treatment may be the right solution for your needs.
TRINITI – A SAFER ALTERNATIVE TO LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Triniti is a three-step treatment that offers a complete range of skin rejuvenation procedures in a streamlined process. The system brings FotoFacial, ReFirme and Matrix IR Fractional technologies together in single treatment sessions to improve your skin in a number of different ways for complete facial rejuvenation. Triniti has 1/10th of the downtime associated with CO2 laser resurfacing.
Problems Treated
Triniti treats age spots, sun damage, uneven skin tone, spider veins, wrinkles, saggy brows, undereye bags and nasolabial folds. It can also create smoother, more vibrant skin.

FOTOFACIAL RF PRO – PHOTOFACIAL REJUVENATION
Did you know that clinical trials of Fotofacial RF Pro, a type of IPL photofacial rejuvenation, found that patients who were treated for wrinkles around the eyes and in the forehead area reported a 94% satisfaction rate with five treatments?
FotoFacial RF Pro uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and RadioFrequency (RF) energies to consistently outperform traditional lasers. The high-tech device precisely heats the targeted area, treating several layers of the skin at one time to improve the appearance and quality of your complexion.
Suitable for the face, neck, and body, FotoFacial RF Pro photo facial rejuvenation is designed to target the underlying causes of pigmentation and vascular related problems without harming the surrounding tissue, which is why patients experience minimal downtime and relatively no recovery after every session. It is a great laser treatment for acne scars as well. Petra Hughes, the head Medical Aesthetician at Edelstein Cosmetic, has performed the procedure on hundreds of female and male patients in her career spanning a decade – with outstandingly positive results. She teaches doctors, nurses and other aestheticians on how to safely and effectively use the FotoFacial RF Pro device so that they also may achieve the optimal improvement her patients have.
Laser IPL treatments are able to treat many different issues, but is most often recommended to patients who wish to enhance their appearance by reducing the presence of:
- damage caused by sun exposure
- age spots and melasma
- freckles
- rosacea
- general redness
- spider veins
- broken blood vessels
- acne scarring
- enlarged pores
- roughness
FotoFacial RF Pro is directed at the vessels and tissue causing your aesthetic concerns, working to correct these problems on a cellular basis. The technology also boosts the production of collagen, enabling the skin to become firmer and smoother (a positive effect of treatment even if you were only intending to address pigmentation irregularities!).
REGULAR IPL VS. MULTI-PASS IPL LASER TREATMENT
There’s Laser IPL and then there’s Multi-Pass Laser IPL, performed at Edelstein Cosmetic. What’s the difference?
The Multi-Pass photorejuvenation treatment is an advanced IPL technique that only experienced Medical Aestheticians with the right training and knowledge can perform, like our Head Medical Aesthetician, Petra. Petra is an educator who frequently trains and tests other national and international doctors, nurses and aestheticians to achieve optimal results from IPL.

Even though the IPL photorejuvenation device is designed to expose the skin in the target area to its energy with a single pass, sometimes, not every millimetre of that skin is exposed. Areas can be inadvertently neglected. With Multi-Pass IPL, missed areas are reached so your treatment obtains more accurate and effective results.
Multi-Pass IPL is better value for your money and time. Petra, our Head Medical Aesthetician, says,
*“In my experience, we’ve managed to eliminate additional treatments therefore saving our patients money and time.”*
This is because the photo rejuvenation technique exposes all the skin in the target area with the precise level of energy it requires to properly address your aesthetic concern. While you may still require more than one treatment to achieve your optimal results, the number of treatments will be minimized.
When dealing with any laser and light technology, burns are always a risk. For this reason, it is the industry norm for Aestheticians to only perform one pass over the target area. However, with the right training/experience in performing the photofacial IPL laser treatment procedure and precise knowledge of the technology so that the right settings on the device are used, our Head Medical Aesthetician offers the Multi-Pass IPL treatment exclusively at Edelstein Cosmetic.
